With future retirement in mind Roy has decreased the days he attends the Practice. Tony Wentzel now works at the Practice on Thursdays and Fridays. Tony is an experienced dentist with a young family and is looking forward to practicing on the island in the future. Roy will be working part time until at least 2009.

Continuing Care

Since withdrawing from the NHS contract and mindful to any increased expense to parents, we have devised a low cost scheme for children under sixteen. The New patient Consultation is £35.00 and the Examination is £17.50, this includes exam, all treatment to milk teeth and fissure seal of permanent teeth. Any other treatment to permanent teeth will be charged at the usual adult rate.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening has now become a regular treatment for patients at the practice. Our technique does not give instantaneous results. By contrast under the patient’s control the results are achieved within 2 to 3 weeks.. When the desired level of whiteness is achieved it can be maintained at home, with a top up every six months or so.

Incidentally it also happens to be the least expensive technique. Speak to one of the team for more information.

Smoking Cessation

Smoking will cause mouth cancer, affect your heart and lungs, may lead to blindness and can affect fertility. All patients are regularly screened for oral cancer at their routine examination and hygienist appointments.

The practice has accreditation to the National Smoking Cessation Programme through Tansy Harvey. This service is now available, get more information from any of the team.

Snoring and Sleep Apnoea

Snoring is a highly prevalent disorder that affects, on average, over 20% of men and 10 % of women, with the rate rising dramatically with age. While snoring is traditionally viewed as a subject for mirth and sometimes derision, the fact is that very often it is neither and can have serious consequences both for the snorer and for those who have to share a room with a heavy snorer.

New Valplast Flexible Denture system
